The Wold Top team are celebrating after winning two awards in the North East division of the SIBA industry wide beer competition.

Wold Gold (a blonde beer), and their first lager, Landmark Lager both won awards at the first SIBA Regional Digital Beer Awards 2020.

Wold Gold, 4.8% ABV won the gold award in the Premium Bitters (4.5 to 6.4%) category and gluten free Landmark Lager, 4.2% ABV won silver in the Lagers and Pilsners category in its first competition since we launched it earlier this year.

Wold Top’s Brewery Manager, Alex (pictured) is delighted with the awards: “Our team are committed to brewing great beers, so it’s a credit to them all to receive awards from brewers and industry experts.

“Awards like these help to enhance our reputation as a leading independent brewery and to encourage people to support local businesses. We’re grateful to SIBA for helping to facilitate this.”

The judging panel comprised beer sommeliers, experienced beer judges and brewers.

What we love about Wold Top: The Mellor’s run a family farm and brewery growing their own barley and using fresh water from the farm’s own borehole which only travels a few metres to reach the brewery. The water is gently filtered by the chalk of the Yorkshire Wolds, and its purity is surely a huge factor in creating their character real ales.
